Another favourite

Another favourite of mine is from Seacombe Ferry Terminal on the Wirral. We go usually on a Sunday and park up at the Ferry terminal. My hubby then gets on his scooter and goes to spend 3-4 hours on the Mersey Ferry. I head off down the promenade to New Brighton where I stop for A pot of tea and a round of Thick toast in the Pavilion theatre cafe. Then I carry on towards Wallasey. This a total of around 4.5 miles and the round trip is just under 9 miles.

Its a wonderful walk and full of interest with boats on the river and people walking and cycling and rollerblading along the flat prom.

It is possible to walk most of the distance on the sand if the tide is out. Plenty of people fish from the sea wall and it is a great place for dog walkers and cycling families,

Once you reach New Brighton there are masses of cafes and restaurants for your lunch. As a town it seems to have its own micro climate and is usually a few degrees warmer than the rest of the area. I find its usually sunny too.

Great beaches at New Brighton too and the Lighthouse and Fort Perch rock are well worth a look.
